Portal:DoPN Regional Offices
From WikiCODOPN
Introduction
The formation of "Regional Offices" is merely a construct of this Model project. HR808 legislation is silent on this issue.
Because effective intervention programs require detailed consideration of local/regional demographics (if these programs are to be effective), it is assumed that such Regional Offices will actually be put in place.
We would therefore envision a Regional Director, Deputy, and several hundred staff members who have general training in peacemaking issue (preferably graduates with degrees from the Peace Academy) and specialized training in the unique issues of the local community. Local DoPN staff member will be able to reach into the community and maintain a pulse on individuals needing the products / services of the DoPN, AND the local staff will be able to reach back to Headquarters in Washington, as well as the U.S. Institute of Peace and U.S. Peace Academy (assuming they are not merged) for Best Practices and basic resources.
