The funding level for the DoPN has initially been set at around 2% of the DoD budget by the HR808 legislation. This money is not to be taken from the DoD budget. The DoD budget is around $400-500 Billion; therefore one would expect the DoPN budget to be around $8-10 Billion annually.

It would be expected that the initial budget would be less than $1B the first year and then grow at a reasonable rate until it reached it legislated level of $8-10B.

Hypothetical /Strawman budgets have been constructed just to get a rough order of magnitude of the funding resources that will be available for domestic activities and subsequently for regional issues.
